A musical based on the Kyou Kara Maou series was announced in the January 2013 issue of Asuka Magazine. It's titled "Kyou Kara MAou! Musical" (今日からマ王!ミュージカル) and his subtitle is Birth of the Maou (魔王誕生編). The show was held during the Golden Week (April 25 - May 6) 2013 at Hakuhinkan theater in Ginza. It was produced by Sogo Vision, the same producer of the anime series. The play follows the same story as the first novel and the first two episodes of the anime.

A second musical was announced in January 2015, on Twitter and Kyou Kara Maou's official website. The performances held place between October 1 and October 12, 2015 and focuses in the search of the Demon Sword Morgif. A third musical was announced on November 2016, this time focused in the search of the Mateki.
